Absolutely. You can use ToolPoints (our virtual currency) for point-to-point lending, or just agree to lend for free in your messages. How you handle it with your neighbor is up to you.

We don't process rental or sale payments. You and your neighbor work that out directly — cash, Venmo, PayPal, whatever. We just connect you and provide the platform for coordination.

ToolPoints (TP) are our virtual currency. You earn them by lending tools and referring friends. You can spend them to borrow tools instead of paying cash. 1 TP = $1 value. They never expire and have no cash value.

The first 50 people in each ZIP code to list 3 qualifying tools become Founding Members. They lock in $20/year pricing forever (vs. $50/year standard). It's our way of rewarding early contributors who help build the tool library.

No. Anyone can sign up for free and list tools. You only need a paid membership ($20 or $50/year) to borrow tools, message other members, or accept cash for rentals.

During signup, we verify your ZIP code through Stripe. We do a $0 authorization on your card to confirm your billing address matches the neighborhood you're joining. No charge, just verification.

Members can set a sale price on any tool. Interested buyers tap "Buy It" which starts a conversation. You coordinate the sale directly — we don't process purchase payments or charge fees.

That's between you and the borrower. We recommend discussing expectations upfront in your messages. Some neighbors ask for a deposit, others rely on trust. You're dealing with real neighbors, not strangers.
